Professionalism is important not only between the professional and the client but also between the professional and society. This talk will be centered on the latter relationship and include a discussion of the concept of professionalism, and an introduction to the ideas of “internal” and “external” professional responsibilities. Dr. Sexson will also discuss the value of leadership skills, social, and individual knowledge to the professional, and conclude with a proposed “tool kit” of specific skills the fully competent professional must possess.
