HEC Ethics Roundtable discussion on Potentially Medically Inappropriate Treatment
Location: Emory Center for Ethics Room 150
Date: Thursday, January 28, 2016
Time: 2:00pm to 4:30pm
This discussion will continue the longstanding HEC conversation and national debate about what constitutes medically “futile” or “inappropriate” treatment.
Our primary goal will be to hear from all participants:
1. What is the current practice at your organization in dealing with patient care when the question of whether to continue treatment is raised?
2. Do you have any current policies or guidelines addressing this issue?
3. Is there interest in a joint project to address this issue across institutions?
Member organizations of HEC are invited to participate.
We will host those who can join us on campus AND have a conference line call in OR a Skype/Zoom videoconferencing option for those who cannot be on site. Please indicate, in your registration, whether you will be joining us in person or virtually.
** If you would like to include more than one representative from your institution, we would appreciate your helping us identify who your 2 to 3 representatives should be.
There is no charge for HEC member institutions to participate in this Roundtable.
